Mean eGFR change at Week 52 was &minus;0.1 versus &minus;5.7 mL\/min\/1.73 m&sup2;; annualized eGFR slope through Week 104 was &minus;0.6 versus &minus;5.6, both P&lt;0.0001. Composite kidney-disease progression occurred in 11 versus 38 patients (HR 0.24), supporting a planned Q4 2026 supplemental BLA for full approval.<\/p>\n<p>The company-issued release was published September 15, 2026 at 6:30 a.m. Eastern and discovered at approximately 8:50 a.m. Eastern. The composite analysis corresponded to a 76% relative risk reduction (95% CI for HR 0.12&ndash;0.48; P&lt;0.0001); no atacicept patient versus eight placebo patients experienced dialysis for at least 30 days, transplant, or death through Week 104. Proteinuria, galactose-deficient IgA1, and hematuria also improved in hierarchical testing.<\/p>\n<p>Overall adverse-event and infection rates were reported as similar to placebo, with no opportunistic infections or clinically relevant hypogammaglobulinemia. Detailed final data remain pending congress presentation. The registry record is stale: it lists 376 estimated participants and no posted results, whereas the sponsor reports a 428-patient final analysis.<\/p>\n<h4>Deep Analysis<\/h4>\n<p>One interpretation is that upstream BAFF\/APRIL blockade modifies the disease process, supported by concordant biomarker, proteinuria, eGFR, and progression-event results over 104 weeks. Against it, the public disclosure is topline, the composite has relatively few events, and treatment after the aligned early analysis may complicate longer follow-up. A second interpretation is that the apparent magnitude partly reflects trial design, population enrichment, or supportive-care background. Randomization and large eGFR separation argue against a purely selection-driven result, but subgroup consistency, censoring, rescue therapy, and sensitivity analyses are not yet public.<\/p>\n<h4>Company and Product Background<\/h4>\n<p>Vera Therapeutics commercializes TRUTAKNA, a once-weekly subcutaneous TACI&ndash;Fc fusion protein that sequesters BAFF and APRIL, reducing B-cell and plasma-cell signals involved in production of pathogenic IgA immune complexes.
